Forklift gearbox, as the name implies, transfers the power from the engine to the drive axle through mechanical or hydraulic transmission. Its function is to change the torque and speed of the engine, and at the same time keep the engine working in the most favorable working condition range to meet the needs of the vehicle. 1  The role of forklift gearbox

Since the engine cannot be reversed, the forward and reverse movement of the forklift is also solved by the transmission. The main function of the gearbox is to adapt to the high-speed driving of the vehicle on a variety of road conditions when starting, accelerating, climbing, and flat roads. The gearbox converts the torque and vehicle speed output by the engine to adapt it to the driving requirements. In addition, the gearbox can also cut off the operation of the engine and the drive system for a longer period of time to separate from each other.

2 The use of forklift gearboxes

When shifting gears or shifting gears, you should relax the accelerator pedal (throttle) until the oil is drained, step on the clutch pedal, quickly and correctly push or pull in the gear you want to engage, and then loosen the clutch. When shifting gears, you have to push and pull hard to make the gears make a crashing sound.

3  Forklift gearbox maintenance requirements

(1) In order to ensure the life of the mechanical parts and sealing elements of the hydraulic control oil circuit, the normal pressure of the control oil circuit.

(2) The working oil is 20# steam turbine oil (or 6# hydraulic transmission oil), turbine oil, the use oil temperature is 70-95~C, and the use time should not be too long after it is greater than 95cC.

(3) The replacement and cleaning cycle of the oil filter should be within 50h for new cars, and every 200h, 1200h thereafter, and every 600h for special environments.

(4) When the forklift is driving and shifting gears, the micro valve should be closed before shifting; when braking, the micro valve must be closed before braking; to prevent clutch damage or brake failure.
