Removing tires is a routine operation for repairing forklift trucks. Here is how to properly remove forklift tire:
1. Unload the forklift. Park the forklift on a level, firm surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Place chocks under the tire opposite the forklift tire to be replaced.
3. Be sure to jack up the forklift at the specified jacking position.
4. Raise the forklift to the extent that the forklift tire are still slightly in contact with the ground, and place a block under the frame to prevent it from falling. When replacing front tires, place chocks at the front. When replacing rear tires, place chocks at the rear.
5. Remove the tire
(1) Use a hub nut wrench or other tool to loosen the hub nuts until they can be turned by hand.
(2) Jack up the forklift until the forklift tire are slightly off the ground. Remove the hub nuts and remove the tire.
6. Install a replacement tire to the hub. Temporarily tighten the hub nuts, tighten the nuts diagonally.
7. Remove the spacers from under the frame. Lower the jack and tighten the hub nut to the specified torque.
8. Adjust the inflation pressure of the forklift tire to the specified pressure. About the correct inflation pressure.
9. After changing a forklift tire, give it a test run to check for loose rim nuts. Tighten if necessary.
