1. First of all, make sure you have a suitable air filter for your forklift. If you don't know how to choose a suitable forklift air filter, you can read this article: Choose An Appropriate Forklift Air Filter Elements for Your HELI Forklifts.
2. Locate the air filter, usually on the left or right side of your forklift engine. Open the hood to find it;
3. Open the air filter housing and remove the air filter. If your air filter element has been used for a long time, replace it even if it looks clean. Because the inside of the air filter element may already be full of dirt and debris that you can't see.
4. Take out the forklift air filter element and wipe the dust on the air filter housing with a dry soft cloth. If there are stains, dents, or oil stains on the casing that cannot be wiped off, the casing needs to be replaced. If there is grease, you need to check the forklift for oil leakage.
5. If you are not a professional, do not use compressed air to purge the system. Improper use can force debris through the casing toward the engine, causing damage to the engine.
6. Replace with a new forklift air filter element.
7. Cover the air filter housing and fasten the locking clip. Check the entire forklift air filter to make sure all clamps are tight and sealed.
8. Start the forklift engine and test whether the airflow and sound are normal.
In the process of the forklift air filter element replacement, check every part for wear and damage, including all gaskets and clamps, and replace damaged parts in time.
