When assembling and adjusting a forklift steering axle, the following points should be noted:

1. Proper Connection and Clearance:

After assembling the steering axle, ensure all parts have the correct connection and clearance.

2. Steering Knuckle Shaft and Needle Bearing Clearance:

The maximum clearance should not exceed 0.1mm.

3. Steering Knuckle and Kingpin Clearance:

The clearance should not exceed 0.1mm.

4. End Play Between Steering Knuckle and Axle:

The typical end play is 0.05-0.1mm. If the end play is too large, add shims to adjust.

5. Adjusting the Steering Angle:

Raise the steering axle, turn the hub to the leftmost position, adjust the steering cylinder piston rod, then install the spring washer and tighten the nut.

6. Lubricating and Adjusting the Hub Bearings:

Apply grease to the hub bearings and install them. Tighten the hub bearing adjustment nut if the wheel is difficult to turn, back off the nut by 1/5 of a turn, and install the lock washer. The wheel should turn smoothly without feeling any axial play when rocked.

7. Adjusting Hub Parallelism:

The error should not exceed 1mm. Adjust the steering rod screws as needed and tighten the lock nuts after adjustment.
