The oil pump gears typically consist of two gears: a drive gear and a driven gear. The drive gear is powered by the engine's crankshaft, while the driven gear rotates through synchronous meshing, creating the suction effect necessary for oil extraction.

 

During operation, the driven gear rotates continuously due to the action of the drive gear, drawing oil from the oil pan through the intake tube into the pump's interior. Under the influence of the drive gear, the oil is compressed and then distributed to various lubrication points via the discharge tube. This process ensures that all critical engine components receive the necessary lubrication for proper functioning.
