Forklift Engine Oil Function

Forklift engine oil is also known as engine lubricating oil. Its main functions are lubrication, friction reduction, cooling and cleaning, sealing and anti-leakage, rust and corrosion prevention, shock absorption. The quality of engine oil lubrication will affect the functionality of the engine.

Inspection Methods for Forklift Diesel Engine Oil:

1. Smell method. Pull out the oil dipstick and sniff close to the nose, if there is a strong acid odor, the oil has deteriorated and should be replaced.

2. The hand twisting method. Uses the thumb and index finger to repeatedly grind out the used engine oil, if hand feels lubricity, less abrasive debris, and no friction, it is in good condition. If you feel impurities, poor viscosity, or even astringency, you should change the engine oil.

3. Color discrimination method. Take a clean white filter test paper (or good quality facial tissue), drop a few points of old engine oil on the paper, after the standby oil leaks, the good quality engine oil has no powder, smooth by hand touch with yellow color. If it is in dark black-brown with impurities, it should be replaced.

4. Illumination method. Take out the oil dipstick and raise it by 45 degrees. Observe the oil droplets under the bright light. If it can be clearly seen no debris in the oil droplets, it is in good condition. If there is too much debris, it should be replaced.
