Common Issues with Engine Flywheels

 

1. Wear on the Flywheel Surface

Due to the inertial forces and friction from the clutch during operation, the surface of the flywheel can become worn, affecting its performance. If the wear exceeds 0.2mm, the flywheel should be replaced.

 

2. Flywheel Bearing Malfunction

Problems with the flywheel bearings often manifest as wobbling or unusual noises from the flywheel. In such cases, the bearings should be cleaned and maintained. If severe damage is found, new bearings should be installed.
