Wiring Method for a HELI Forklift Fuel Gauge

 

Fuel Gauge Connections:

The fuel gauge has two wires: a positive (power) wire and a negative (ground) wire.

The positive wire must be connected to a power source. This connection can be made from the ignition switch to ensure the gauge only receives power when the forklift is turned on.

 

Fuel Float Connections:

1. The fuel float (sensor) also has two wires: an input wire and an output wire.

2. These wires are connected in series with the fuel gauge wires. Essentially, the output wire from the fuel float connects to the negative wire of the fuel gauge.

3. After connecting the wires in series, the final negative wire must be grounded to the forklift chassis to complete the circuit.

Identifying Wires:

 

Don't be confused by the number of wires. The positive wire might be yellow or blue. You can test each one to see which makes the needle on the gauge move.

 

The black wire is likely the negative wire. Ensure this wire is properly grounded to the chassis.
