How to replace the cylinder gasket on a Xinchai 490 forklift engine ?

1.Disconnect the battery: before starting work on the engine, disconnect the battery to prevent electrical hazards.

2.Drain the coolant: the gasket is between the engine block and cylinder head, and it is therefore necessary to drain the coolant to access the cylinder head.

3.Remove intake and exhaust manifold: disconnect the intake and exhaust manifold bolts and remove them from the engine.

4.Remove the valve cover: remove the valve cover to gain access to the cylinder head.

5.Remove the cylinder head: remove the bolts holding the cylinder head and remove the head carefully from the block.

6.Remove the old gasket: once the head is removed, remove the old gasket and any debris that may have accumulated on the surfaces.

7.Install a new gasket: the new gasket should be aligned correctly, and the head should be re-installed with the appropriate torque settings and bolt sequence.

8.Reassemble intake and exhaust manifold: once the cylinder gasket is replaced, it is essential to reassemble the intake and exhaust manifold bolts with the correct torque settings.

9.Fill coolant: finally, fill the engine with coolant and reconnect the battery.
