When the engine temperature is too high, the thermostat will automatically open to allow more cooling water to enter the engine to lower the temperature. In winter, the system stops water circulation to avoid water freezing in the cooling system, so the upper and lower water hoses play a key role in regulating engine temperature and protecting the engine from low temperatures.
