The fuel pump is mounted next to the diesel fuel injection pumps. It is a single-acting reciprocating piston fuel pump. A filter strainer is installed in the oil inlet pipe to filter the impurities of the fuel.

 

Common Faults and Treatment of Diesel Fuel Pumps:

1. If any air leaks at the joints of the inlet and outlet pipes of the oil pump, the oil pump stops supplying oil, we should replace the gaskets of the inlet and outlet pipes, and grind the sealing surfaces.

2. If the check valve and valve seat surface of the oil pump are worn or damaged or have failed, we should replace the check valve.

3. The piston of the oil pump is worn and the seal fails, the oil pump stops supplying oil and the piston should be replaced.

4. If piston spring of the oil transfer pump breaks, or oil transfer pump fails and the oil pump function stops, piston spring should be replaced.

5. The seal of the piston rod of the fuel transfer pump is damaged, causing diesel to enter the cam chamber of the injection pump. It can make the oil in the diesel engine oil pan thinner. At this time, the rod seal should be replaced.
