1. For second-degree maintenance and repair, a hidden damage inspection must be performed on the steering knuckle shaft. Once fatigue cracks are found, they can only be replaced, and welding repairs are not allowed. Hidden injuries are usually in the journal. Fatigue cracks are prone to occur due to the sharp changes in section. If there are hidden cracks, it may cause fatigue fracture of the knuckle shaft, resulting in a major traffic accident.

2. Steering knuckle wear inspection. The clearance between the journal neck and the bearing: When the diameter of the journal is not greater than 40mm, the clearance is 0.040mm; when the diameter of the journal is greater than 40mm, the clearance is 0.055mm. Steering knuckle journals should be replaced with new ones after they are worn out.
